Works include lowering of the main cellar level; raising of courtyard level in order to create better changes between indoor and outdoor and improve circulation; creation of open plan area within back rooms at ground floor level and creation of new aperture to courtyard; part demolition of projecting balcony over courtyard at first floor level; reinstatement of arch within front bedroom and introduction of new aperture in back bedroom; introduction of mezzanine level within back bedroom and part dismantling and reinstatement of ceiling above proposed mezzanine at a higher level; introduction of new lightweight stairs within courtyard in order to access roof level; roofing of courtyard with a retractable skylight; part lowering of front roof to create one level; proposed alterations to existing washroom and extension to washroom occupying part of the back roof; placing of services at rear lower roof level. Minor facade restoration works and general facade upkeep including repainting of timber louvers and metalwork, and proposed replacement of timber-framed single-glazed external aperture at first floor with new timber-framed double-glazed aperture.
